Golden Era of Hollywood

With the biggest breakthrough in the history of cinematography – the soundtrack – film music became an integral part of film. Hollywood began to compose for the needs of the cinema, among others: Erich Wolfgang Korngold, and Max Steiner, whose works was be heard at the Krakow Philharmonic on 18 February at 7:30 pm and 19 February at 6 pm.

The Cracow Philharmonic Orchestra, conducted by Stefan Plewniak, will perform:

Erich Korngold – Suite from the film The Adventures of Robin Hood
Max Steiner – Suites from the film Gone with the Wind, and Casablanca
George Gershwin – An American in Paris
Leonard Bernstein – Symphonic Dances from West Side Story.
